COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - - The Wilmington University track and field program wrapped up its 2024 fall nonchampionship season with an indoor meet, winning five events at the Bow Tie Invitational hosted by Ursinus College inside the Floy Lewis Bakes Center on Saturday.

The Wildcats dominated the indoor jumps and throws on Saturday, winning the long jump, triple jump, shot put, and weight throw. The one track event the Wildcats came out on top in was the 3,000-meter race.

Fresh off a cross country season and All-Region performance, Dan Wyshinski won the 3,000-meter event among collegiate competitors, crossing the line in 9:16.23 to beat the field by more than eight seconds.

The jump lane was a launching pad for the Wildcats, as freshman Jaden Williams won the long jump and Donte Dockery easily won the triple jump. Williams made a leap of 6.44 meters to beat the field by 0.06 meters. Donte Dockery out-jumped the field by more than two-meters, winning the triple jump with a distance of 15.38 meters. It would be good enough for NCAA DII Indoor qualifying standards if Wilmington officially sponsored indoor track and field.

The women dominated the throws on Saturday as freshman Sytieia Brown won the shot put with a day's best distance of 12.33 meters and Jada Obegi won the 20-pound weight throw with a distance of 14.40 meters. Obegi placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 11.39 meters while Trinity Fortune-Madine finished 16th overall with a distance of 7.75 meters. Brown placed sixth overall in the weight throw with a distance of 10.39 meters while Fortune-Madine placed eighth with a best of 8.95 meters.

Bostwich Patten was the team's fastest Wildcat runner on Saturday, completing the 200-meter race in third place with a time of 23.27 seconds and the 400-meter event with a time of 52.27 seconds. Jaden Williams finished fifth in the 200-meter with a time of 23.39 while Elijah Gillis placed seventh with a time of 23.45 seconds and Bradley Spencer placed 10th with a time of 23.91 seconds.

Donte Dockery added a fourth place finish in the 400-meter event with a time of 52.62 seconds while Bradley Spencer placed 13th overall with a time of 55.05 seconds. Jaden Williams finished 16th followed by Elijah Gillis in 17th, Robert Powell in 19th, and Rayhan Issah in 23rd overall.

In the pit, Sam Distler led the Wildcats in the shot put, finishing fifth overall with a day's best distance of 12.10 meters. Christian Dollard finished seventh overall with a distance of 11.57 meters. Dollard then bested Distley with the 35-pound weight throw, finishing third overall with a distance of 13.49 meters. Distler finished ninth in the weight throws with a distance of 11.06 meters.

The Wildcats will return to action with their official outdoor competition season beginning in March.
