
LODI, N.J. - - The Wilmington University bowling team went 3-5 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Meet No. 2 this weekend, hosted by Felician at the Lodi Lanes.
Combining the two CACC Regular Season Meets, the Wildcats went 10-8 in head-to-head matchups, qualifying and earning the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CACC Championships.
The Wildcats competed in four traditional matches on Saturday, going 1-4 overall. They dropped their first match to Dominican, 909-854, before winning out of the bye, 733-728, against Holy Family. Saturday ended with losses to Felician, 877-805, and Caldwell, 901-757.
Sydney Jones led the Wildcats on Saturday with a four-match total of 730, bowling a 182.50 average. She finished fourth overall. Jones came out of the gates strong with a 246 against Dominican. She also bowled a 225 against Felician.
Logan Brown finished sixth overall with a 179.75 average, finishing with a 719 total pinfall. She had a day's high 197 against Caldwell in the final game while also bowling a 180 against Dominican and a 179 against Felician.
Genna Closs finished 16th overall with a 660 total pinfall, good enough for a 165.00 average. She bowled a 181 against Dominican and had a 168 against Felician.
Miranda Dudas placed 18th overall with a four-match total of 629 for a 157.25 average. She had a day's best 184 against Caldwell while adding a 156 against Holy Family.
Alexa Pacheco finished 23rd overall with a 102.75 average, finishing with a 411 total pinfall. She had a day's best 114 against Holy Family.
The tournament shifted to Baker matches on Sunday and the Wildcats went 2-2 overall. The day started with a day's best 932 team score against Felician, defeating the Golden Falcons, 932-871. They also defeated Holy Family, 744-681, for their second win of the day before falling to Dominican, 908-769, and Caldwell, 851-824.
Felician will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CACC Championship with a 14-4 head-to-head record in the two meets. Caldwell will be the No. 2 seed with a 13-5 head-to-head record. The Wildcats are third at 10-8 while Dominican rounds out the Championships with the No. 4 spot with a 9-9 record.
The CACC Championships will take place starting on Friday, March 21 at Pike Lanes in Southampton, Pennsylvania. The Wildcats have one final tune-up prior to the CACC Championships though, hosting the Northeast Roundup at Bowlerama. The two-day tournament begins on Saturday, March 15.
