NEWARK, Del. - - The College Sports Communicators announced its 2024 Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, and six Wilmington University student-athletes were recognized as some of the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Women's bowling's Logan Brown and Eleni Feggulis, as well as women's lacrosse's Alea Javorowsky, Ella Royer, Madison Trzaska, and Katie Vindigni represent the Wildcats on the CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team. The Wildcats are six of the 33 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference representatives on the All-District Team.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District nomination, the student-athlete must excel in both the field of play and the classroom. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, AND compete in 90 percent of the institution's games or start in at least 66 percent of the games, along with several other criteria.
Logan Brown was a First Team All-CACC performer for the Wildcats, finishing fourth overall in the CACC with an 18.94 overall frame average. She was second overall in traditional frame average, picking up a score of 19.72 per frame on the year. She produced the most strikes in the CACC with 502 and was second overall with a 46.0 strike percentage. She is going for her sports management degree and carries a 3.93 cumulative GPA.
Eleni Feggulis was another First Team All-CACC performer for the Wildcats, finishing right behind Brown in fifth place in the CACC with an 18.83 overall frame average. She was third best in the league with a 19.34 traditional frame average and third best with a makeable spare percentage of 76.0 percent. She had the third most strikes in the league with 464, finishing fifth overall with a 42.8 striking percentage. Feggulis has been perfect in the classroom, already completing an undergrad degree with a 4.0 while studying for her MEd in Higher Education with a perfect 4.0 as well.
Alea Javorowsky was a Second Team All-CACC performer for the Wildcats and the NCAA Statistical Champion for assists and assists per game in all of NCAA Division II. She led the country with 88 assists and 4.63 assists per game this year, setting new WilmU program records. She also set a new program mark with 114 points this year, adding 26 goals. Javorowsky is studying for her graphic design degree while carrying a 3.63 grade point average.
Ella Royer was named the CACC Player of the Year after leading the CACC and ranking fifth in all of NCAA DII with 86 goals. She tacked on 22 assists for 108 points as well, ranking 11th most in NCAA DII. Royer also led the team with 50 ground balls, second with 27 caused turnovers, and third with 80 draw controls. She led the CACC in converting her free position chances at 62.5 percent, going 20-for-32 on the year. The sophomore carries a 3.70 grade point average while studying for her behavioral science degree.
Madison Trzaska started all 19 games for the Wildcats this year, helping to anchor a defense that only allowed 8.78 goals per game. The defender collected nine ground balls while adding five caused turnovers, helping the team to its 14-5 overall mark. The junior is carrying a 3.94 GPA while studying sports management.
Katie Vindigni was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year after earning First Team All-CACC honors. She played every minute of every game for the Wildcats, anchoring the defensive to only allowing 8.78 goals per game. Her 0.481 save percentage led the CACC, ranking 12th in all of NCAA DII. She had 155 saves this season, with a season high 21 in an 11-10 overtime loss at Frostburg State. She graduated this spring with her biology degree, carrying a 3.70 grade point average.
The CSC Academic All-America Teams will be announced on Tuesday, July 16.
