Alea Javorowsky Breaks All-Time Assists Record in Women’s Lacrosse’s 23-12 Win at Converse

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - - An 11-2 second quarter boosted the Wilmington University women's lacrosse team to a 23-12 nonconference victory at Converse on Saturday, evening their record at 2-2 on the year.

In the win, junior attack Alea Javorowsky became the program's all-time assist leader, dishing out five on Saturday to surpass Taylor Lambeth for the program record. Javorowsky now has 126 career assists.

Following a close first quarter in which the Wildcats only led 6-5, they came out and scored the first five goals of the second quarter and never looked back. Two more spurts of three goals in a row pushed the Wildcats' lead out to 17-7 at the halftime break.

The Wildcats then put the game away by scoring all six goals of the third quarter, including the first three of the frame by Ella Royer, to take a 23-7 lead into the final frame.

Alea Javorowsky came into today's game tied with Taylor Lambeth with 121 career assists. The record-breaking helper came in the second quarter, as she fed Tristan Holdsworth with 14:28 to play to make it an 8-5 game.

Ella Royer led the Wildcats with nine goals, the second most in a game in program history. She also had six ground balls, five draw controls, and a caused turnover. Tristan Holdsworth scored four goals while Mia Schultz and Anastasia Giannoulis had three tallies each. Alea Javorowsky finished with a goal and five assists while Gia Boccio chipped in with two goals and an assist.

Eden Ward anchored the defense with nine draws and four ground balls, adding four caused turnovers as well. Ashleigh Lawry made eight saves in the first half while Allison Schiavone came on and made four stops in the second half.

The Wildcats have a week off before making their 2025 home debut next Saturday. They open with Molloy next Saturday at the WU Athletics Complex. The opening draw is set for 3:00 p.m.
