Ella Royer Sets New Program Points Record as Wildcats Defeat Chestnut Hill, 14-3

NEWARK, Del. - - Junior midfielder Ella Royer set a new Wilmington University women's lacrosse program record, securing her 277th career point in a 24-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Chestnut Hill on Tuesday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.

Ella Royer's (Sherwood Park, Alberta) third point of the day broke Taylor Lambeth's ('23) record of 276 career points, finishing with eight goals and now sits at 282 career points.

Her third goal and point of the day gave the Wildcats a 4-0 lead with 10:46 left in the first quarter. Alea Javorowsky gave the Wildcats a 6-1 lead at the end of the first with her first goal of the game.

The Wildcats used seven different goal scorers in the second quarter, winning the frame, 7-1, to take a 13-2 lead into the halftime break. Anastasia Giannoulis, Mia Schultz, Tristan Holdsworth, Eden Ward, Megan Molinelli, Kayla Dillon, and Ella Royer all found the back of the net in the quarter.

Ella Royer scored three goals in the third quarter while Gia Boccio got in the boxscore with her first of the game, outscoring the Griffins, 5-0 in the third to take an 18-2 lead.

Six separate Wildcats found the back of the net in the fourth quarter, closing out the CACC victory, 24-3.

Alea Javorowsky led the Wildcats with two goals and eight assists while Ella Royer scored eight goals. Michaella Cook finished with four goals and two assists. Anastasia Giannoulis scored three goals and added an assist while Mia Schultz chipped in with two goals and two assists. Royer added six draws, five ground balls, and four caused turnovers as well. Caitlyn Welker finished with five draws while Eden Ward, Gia Boccio, and Welker added two caused turnovers.

The Wildcats are on the road for their next two games this week, starting with their final nonconference game of the year at St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday. The opening draw is set for 3:00 p.m. in Sparkill, New York.
