NEWARK, Del. - - A trio of Wilmington University women's soccer members were named to the 2016 D2CCA Women's Soccer All-East Region Second Team on Wednesday, as voted on by the region's sports information directors.

Teigha Ward (Ilion, N.Y./Central Valley Academy), Rebecca Dolhansky (Blackwood, N.J./Triton), and Melissa Gall (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) were all named Second Team All-East Region after leading the Wildcats on the field during the 2016 season.

The trio led the Wildcats to an 11-8 overall record and the fifth seed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament with an 8-4 record. The Wildcats advanced to the CACC Tournament Semifinals for the first time since the 2012 season.

Ward led the team and finished second in the CACC with 27 points in her first season as a Wildcat. She tied for the team lead with 10 goals on the year, but added seven assists to only finish two points behind the CACC leader who collected 29 points. Ward also led the team with 39 shots on the year, putting a team leading 23 of them on frame. Her five game-winning goals also rank second in the CACC. She tied a single match program record with four goals against Concordia on October 15.

Dolhansky set the offense up this season, leading the team and setting second in CACC with 10 assists on the year. She finished third on the team with 14 points, scoring two goals while adding her 10 assists. She had a stretch of dishing out one assist in four straight and five of six games from September 14 to October 1. She scored a game-winner at Post while dishing out a season high two assists against Millersville on October 20.

Gall anchored the defense for the Wildcats, starting all 18 of her games on the year. She finished fifth on the team in points as well, scoring four goals while adding one assist. Gall was a target on set pieces throughout the year, scoring two off blasts from in front of the goal (one penalty-kick) while also scoring a pair off corner kicks.

It is the first time for all three Wildcats to be named All-Region in their careers. All three Wildcats were also named First Team All-CACC earlier this season.
