NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's soccer team reached the postseason for the ninth season in a row, earning the No. 4 seed and a home game on Tuesday in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament First Round, squaring off against crosstown rival and No. 5 seeded Goldey-Beacom College.

Tuesday will be the first postseason battle between the two Delaware schools while the Wildcats hold a 12-5 lead in the all-time series. The Wildcats have won two games in a row over the Lightning, including a thrilling 4-3 final minute victory at Goldey-Beacom earlier this year. But Goldey-Beacom is 3-2 against the Wildcats in their last five meetings overall.

The Wildcats earned the No. 4 seed and a home game with a 7-2-2 CACC record, capturing 23 points. Goldey-Beacom is the No. 5 seed with a 7-4 CACC record for 21 points. Both teams have 10 wins on the year with the Wildcats finishing the regular season 10-4-3 and the Lightning at 10-6.

Scouting the No. 4 Wilmington University Wildcats:

The Wildcats come into the CACC Tournament going 5-1-1 in their last seven games, with their only loss to top seed Dominican. Most recently, they defeated Chestnut Hill, 3-1, on Wednesday in the regular season finale.

As a team, the Wildcats have scored the second most goal in the CACC, 39, behind only Goldey-Beacom's 44. In CACC play only, the Wildcats and the Lightning have each scored a CACC high 29 goals. The Wildcats are also second in points on the year with 110, but have one more assist than the Lightning in CACC play and lead conference play with 83 points.

The Wildcats are second in the CACC by holding a 0.91 goals against average on the year, but are only fifth in CACC games only with a 0.96 goals against average.

Individually, the Wildcats are led by Jimena Garcia Risoto who has jumped up to a tie for second in the CACC with 23 points. She had 10 goals and three assists on the year with four goals and two assists coming in the final three games of the year. Krysta Memis ranks 11th in the CACC with 15 points, scoring five goals and adding five assists while Lauren Hoelke and Kasie Lambert are tied for 13th with 13 points. Samantha Emmis is right behind those two with 12 points, scoring five goals and adding two assists.

Wildcat netminder Emily Camp is ranked fourth in the CACC with a 0.89 goals against average, making 55 saves with a .809 save percentage.

Scouting the No. 5 Goldey-Beacom College Lightning:

The Lightning enter the postseason red-hot, wining their final six games of the regular season. Following a 1-0 loss at Nyack on October 9, the Lightning defeated Georgian Court, 5-0, Dominican, 2-0, Felician, 7-1, St. Thomas Aquinas, 5-1, Bloomfield, 4-0, and Jefferson, 2-0.

Since the Wildcats defeated the Lightning, 4-3, on September 29, Goldey-Beacom has gone 8-1 to close out the regular season with their lone loss coming at Nyack.

As a team, the Lightning are first in the CACC with 44 goals on the year, and first in CACC play with 29 goals. They are also first overall with 34 assists, ranking second in CACC play with 24. Defensively, they are fifth in the CACC with a 1.27 goals against average. They have only allowed 10 goals to CACC teams on the year.

The Lightning are led by CACC leading goal scorer Alyssa Ruggieri who has 12 goals and nine assists for 33 points, all tops in the CACC. Melayna Immediato is fourth in the CACC with 21 points, scoring seven goals while adding seven assists. Taylor Owen is fifth in the CACC with 18 points, ranking fifth with seven goals while adding four assists as well. Lexi Coppola is eighth in the CACC with six goals and 12th with 14 points.

Lightning netminder Noel Talbot carrying a 1.39 goals against average into the CACC Tournament, making 51 saves while allowing 20 goals on the year.
