Jordan Siok and Maria Leguizamon Score as Wildcats Shutout Post, 2-0

NEWARK, Del. - - Goals from Jordan Siok and Maria Leguizamon led a dominating performance by the Wilmington University women's soccer team in a 2-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Post on Saturday in the team's 2024 home opener.

The Wildcats (4-2, 2-0 CACC) outshot the Eagles (0-4, 0-1 CACC), 20-4, for the match, including a 13-1 outburst in the second half. They also led, 9-2, in shots on goal, and 8-1 in corners taken.

Jordan Siok scored her first goal as a Wildcat in the 25th minute, finishing off a nice run to the end line form Julia Yuhase. Yuhase intercepted a pass and then got to the end line on the left side. Her pass back across the face of the goal found Jordan Siok who one-timed it home for the 1-0 lead 24:10 into the contest.

Early in the second half, Maria Leguizamon converted a corner kick all on her own, curling one in with her left foot to the back post. It was her first goal of the season as well.

Arianna Myers made two saves in the first half to record the win while Mio Nakajima and Isabella Mazzone split time int eh second half to secure the shutout.

The Wildcats step outside of the CACC on Tuesday as they welcome Mercy to the WU Athletics Complex in another tough regional matchup. The opening whistle is set for 4:00 p.m.
