NEWARK, Del. - - Following a storied 10-year head coaching stint and a 21-year stint at Wilmington University, Jeff Zoyac is stepping down as the women's soccer head coach to pursue family engagements.
The all-time wins leader in program history, Zoyac wrapped up his 10th season at the helm in 2024 with a 12-6-1 overall record. He led the program back to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament in 2024 for the first time since 2012. The Wildcats earned an at-large bid into the tournament this year, the first at-large selection in program history.
Zoyac wraps up his 10-year tenure with a 90-64-16 overall record, winning 57.6 percent of the games. He's led his teams to six double-digit win seasons, including a program-record 14 wins in 2017. He's also helped guide the 2017 and 2021 teams to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Championship match. His teams went 66-28-11 in CACC contests.
The 2023 CACC Coach of the Year coached two student-athletes to All-American status in Jimena Garcia Risoto in 2021 and Manuela Restrepo in 2023, as well as a CACC Player of the Year (Restrepo in 2023), a CACC Defensive Player of the Year (Samantha Emmi in 2021), and a CACC Goalkeeper of the Year (Kierstyn Williams in 2017).
Zoyac's head coaching stint started in 2015 after 11 years as an assistant coach on the men's sideline at Wilmington. That came after completing his collegiate playing career as a Wildcat in 2003.
A successor for the Wildcats' program will be named following a national search for the position.
