Women’s Tennis Blanks Post To Stay Unbeaten

WILMINGTON, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's tennis team blanked Post, 7-0, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup on Monday afternoon at the Delcastle Tennis Center, sweeping the season series from the Eagles.

The Wildcats (7-0, 7-0 CACC) won every set from the Eagles on Monday, only losing four games in double and 12 games in singles on their way to their seventh straight dual match victory.

Kushi Khandoji and Liza Sylka started the doubles matches with a 6-0 win at No. 3 before Molly Carlberg and Gloria Barcaro gave the Wildcats the doubles point with a 6-1 win at No. 2. Ming-Fu Chen and Inés Oliveira made it a clean sweep with a 6-3 win at No. 1.

Inés Oliveira started singles competition with a 6-0 and 6-2 victory at No. 6 before Ming-Fu Chen made it 3-0 in favor of the Wildcats with a donut at No. 5, 6-0 and 6-0. Molly Carlberg clinched the team victory at No. 1 singles, winning 6-1 and 6-0.

Siana MacDonald kept the winning going at No. 2 singles with a 6-2 and 6-1 win before Kushi Khandoji remained undefeated in singles play with a 6-0 and 6-4 win at No. 4 singles. Liza Sylka made it a clean sweep with a win at No. 3 singles, 6-0 and 6-2.

The Wildcats remain at home for two more matches this week, starting with Dominican on Wednesday afternoon. First serve at the Delcastle Tennis Center is set for 2:00 p.m. against the Chargers.
