
AMHERST, N.Y. - - In a battle of the Wildcats, it was Daemen that came out on top, 3-0, over the Wilmington University volleyball team in a nonconference match on Friday night inside Lumsden Gymnasium.
Set scores for the match were 25-17, 25-11, and 25-18.
The Daemen Wildcats hit .337 for the match, including over .400 in each of the first two sets, to outhit Wilmington, .337 to .041. Wilmington put down 20 kills but committed 16 errors in the match.
Eliza Schneider led the attach with five kills while only committing two errors to hit .150. Karla Nunez-Rivera and Kaiya Medina collected four kills each with Medina hitting .250 for the match. Alex Serna added three kills from the middle position.
Cam Justus dished out seven assists while Claudia Melendez added five assists and Karalyn Osborne with four. Gabby Barth led the back row with 11 digs while Moran Danieled picked up nine. Eliza Schneider also collected a solo block in the loss.
The Wildcats remain in western New York for the weekend, making the short trip to D'Youville in Buffalo for a match on Sunday afternoon. The first serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
