Women’s Tennis Pulls Even in CACC With 4-3 Victory Over Holy Family

WILMINGTON, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's tennis team evened its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference record with a 4-3 victory over Holy Family on Tuesday at the Delcastle Tennis Center.

With the win, the Wildcats are now 2-4 overall, but 2-2 in the CACC.

The Wildcats were able to take both of the doubles' matches before earning wins at No. 1, 2, and 3 singles.

Laura Gil and Sabrina Blasi-Smith was able to give the Wildcats a chance for the doubles point with a 6-0 win at No. 1, and then Andrea Ribalta and Mallory Nolte secured the point with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.

Sabrina Blasi-Smith kept her momentum going at No. 3 singles, winning her match, 6-0 and 6-0, at No. 3 singles for the Wildcats' second point. Laura Gil put the Wildcats ahead, 3-2, with a 6-0 and 6-0 match at No. 2 singles before Andrea RIbalta clinched the winning point with a win at No. 1 singles, 6-1 and 6-0.

The Wildcats travel to Jefferson for their next match, heading to Philadelphia on Saturday for a 12:00 p.m. contest.
