Taylor Lambeth’s CACC Player of the Year Award Headlines Six on Women’s Lacrosse All-CACC Teams

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Taylor Lambeth headlines a group of six Wilmington University women's lacrosse student-athletes on the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Conference Teams, being voted the 2022 CACC Player of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Taylor Lambeth (Townsend, Del./Appoquinimink) becomes the program's second ever CACC Player of the Year and is joined on the All-CACC First Team by freshman Campbell Heller (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) and sophomore Marisa Swanson (Eden Prairie, Minn./Minnetonka).

The Wildcats also had three on the All-CACC Second Team in sophomore goalkeeper Katie Vindigni (Montvale, N.J./Pasack Hills), junior Maddie Day (New Park, Pa./Kennard-Dale), and sophomore Makenzie Stritzinger (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey).

Lambeth is now a two-time First Team All-CACC performer after earning the honor last year as well. She becomes the second CACC Player of the Year in program history, joining Danielle Niccoli who earned the honor in 2010. Lambeth leads the CACC with 93 points on the year, leading the conference and ranking second in all NCAA DII with 60 assists. Her 33 goals this year rank 16th in the conference. She set a new program record with 14 points and 11 assists at Chestnut Hill on March 23. She also had 10 points with two goals and eight assists against Post on March 26.

Campbell Heller is having a freshman season to remember, ranking second in the CACC with 69 goals and is third in the CACC with 82 points. She ranks 13th overall with her 13 assists as well. Her 69 goals are 6th most in all of NCAA Division II while her 82 points are 15th overall. She is also fifth in the CACC with 36 ground balls, seventh overall with 21 caused turnovers, and ninth with 63 draw controls on the year. She had a season's best eight goals and nine points at Chestnut Hill on March 23.

For the second year in a row, Marisa Swanson has earned First Team All-CACC as a defender. She is tied for second in the CACC with 23 caused turnovers on the year, and 13th overall with 31 ground balls. She had headlined a defense that is fourth in the CACC with an 11.00 goals against average, which lowers in CACC play to 9.67.

Katie Vindigni has appeared in 15 of the team's 16 games this year and leads the CACC with a .506 save percentage. In 434 minutes this season, she has allowed 79 goals for a 10.93 goals against average, ranking fifth in the CACC. She made a season's best 20 saves in her lone this year against Jefferson. She also made 11 stops in a 17-10 win at Barton on March 2. She had headlined a defense that is fourth in the CACC with an 11.00 goals against average, which lowers in CACC play to 9.67. The team's .485 save percentage leads the CACC, as does the team's .503 save percentage in CACC games only.

Maddie Day earns a spot on the All-CACC Second Team for the second year in a row. She finished third on the team with 51 points, scoring a team second best 40 goals while adding 11 assists. She ranks 10th in the CACC with her 51 points while her goals rank her 10th in the league as well. She had a season high six points three times this year, including a season high six goals against St. Thomas Aquinas.

Makenzie Stritzinger earns All-CACC honors for the first time in her career. She leads the team and is fourth in the CACC with 80 draws and is eighth in the CACC with 20 caused turnovers. She's scored 28 goals on the year while adding three assists for 31 points. She had a season's best five points twice, first with four goals and an assist against Frostburg State and again with five goals against Caldwell. Her 14 draws in the opener are second most in program history.

Dominican's Grace DeStasio earned the CACC Rookie of the Year while Holy Family's Lynn Hardy was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Year. Dominican's netminder Kristinamarie Kaszovitz earned the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year while the Chargers' coach Rob Grella was named the CACC Coach of the Year.
