NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Wilmington University spring sports were well represented across the board this week as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference office announced the players, pitchers and rookies of the week for baseball, softball and women's lacrosse for last week's action. Megan Keffer, Joe Harbach and Katie Warrington all earned a weekly honor in their respective sports.

While leading his team to a perfect 5-0 week and two important sweeps in CACC action, Harbach was named baseball's Player of the Week for the second time this season. For the third time in as many weeks, Warrington picked up the CACC Pitcher of the Week award after going 3-1 in conference play in the circle. Keffer earned her first CACC Rookie of the Week award on the turf, scoring a hat trick off the bench in the Wildcats' lone game last week.

Harbach had a career day last Thursday and continued it into an outstanding week, batting 10-for-18 with 11 RBI and nine runs scored in the five games. He smashed three home runs, two doubles and a triple in the week, adding two stolen bases while slugging 1.278.

The Abingdon, Md. native started the week by going 2-for-3 with a two-run double against Millersville, but really broke out against Chestnut Hill on Thursday. In the first game, he delivered two home runs, a two-run shot down the right field line and a solo shot to right, knocking in four runs while scoring two runs himself. In the nightcap of the doubleheader, his finale might have been his best shot, as he blasted a two-run home run off the top of the scoreboard in right field to give the Wildcats the lead for good for the sweep. Harbach batted 4-for-8 with seven RBI's and three runs scored in the two games over the Griffins.

Warrington continued her string of late season dominance, going 3-1 on the week with her only loss coming to Bloomfield on four unearned runs. She struck out 10 or more batters in three of the four games last week and raided her record to 9-7 through last Saturday. She lowered her earned run average to a miniscule 0.92 following the four games.

Every time the Townsend, Del. native touched the ball, she went the entire game and even went longer then the regulated seven innings against Felician. Her week started with an 11 strikeout performance against Concordia at home, as the Wildcats won 5-1. She allowed one run on two hits, ending her streak of 21 consecutive scoreless innings. She allowed a solo shot to lead off the seventh inning to break the shutout. Warrington then threw eight shutout innings against Felician, allowing the offense to walk off with a win in extra-innings. She struck out nine and only gave up four hits in the 1-0 win. The junior followed that up with another 11 strikeout performance at Philadelphia, allowing one run on two hits in the 3-1 win. Her only blemish was a 4-3 loss to Bloomfield on Saturday, as she gave up four unearned runs in the first two innings before striking out 10 batters and allowing only three hits. She has a 0.48 ERA for the week.

Playing in the only game of the week for the lady Wildcats on Tuesday, Keffer came off the bench and recorded her third hat trick of the season. The freshman converted on three of her four shots against the CACC leading Georgian Court Lions. She also scooped up two ground balls and controlled four draws while scoring on her lone eight-meter shot of the afternoon. Defensively, she caused two turnovers to get the ball back on the offensive attack as well.

The Wilmington, Del. native is third on the team in goals this season, collecting 17 while playing in all 11 games. She has come off the bench in 10 games thus far this season, scoring all 17 goals and three assists as a reserve. Keffer is 5-for-7 on free position shots this season and has a .515 shooting percentage.

All three individuals led their respective sports to victories on Wednesday, as baseball swept a nonconference doubleheader against Mansfield, softball swept an important CACC doubleheader from University of the Sciences and lacrosse earned an important overtime victory over Chestnut Hill.
