NEWARK, Del. - - The partner stunt duo of Matthew Henry-Marshall and Wendy Mayerson get a chance to compete on the national stage once again this year, as they qualified for the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship in Daytona Beach in April.

The duo set a new standard for the Wilmington University cheerleading team, qualifying in first place for the partner stunt national tournament, which will take place from April 5-9 at the famed Band Shell Ocean Center in the Peabody Auditorium. It is the first time a Wilmington group has qualified as the top team.

Henry-Marshall and Mayerson lead a group of 16 partner stunt groups that qualified for the championship. Teams that qualified behind them are duos from the University of Kentucky, North Carolina State University, and two groups from Weber State University to round out the Top 5.

The duo placed third at the 2017 University Cheerleading Association (UCA) Partner Stunt Coed National Championship in January. Their submitted tape was judged and put atop the list for the NCA Partner Stunt National Championships.
