Zac Moore’s Ace Leads Wilmington Golf as Second Round is Suspended; Wildcats 12th After One at Otter Invite

SEASIDE, Calif. - - Senior Zac Moore needed only one shot on the par three 15th, acing the hole in the second round before play was suspended due to darkness at the Otter Invitational hosted by CSU Monterey Bay on the Black Horse at Bayonet on Monday.

Four Wildcats need to complete their second round on Tuesday morning, which will be completed with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. The teams will then head right into the third and final round of the tournament. 

The Wildcats posted a 303 in the first round on Monday morning, sitting in 15th place overall at 15-over par.

Moore and Joey Russo led the Wildcats in the first round with a 75 (+3), sitting in a tie for 41st overall. Ryan Rucinski was one off the Wildcat leaders with a 76 (+4), sitting in a tie for 55th overall.

Playing in his first tournament not as an individual, Sergio Ronchel posted a 77 (+5) to be in a tie for 61st overall and round out the Wildcats' scoring. Enrique Valverde was also on the course for the Wildcats, shooting a 78 (+6) to be in a tie for 74th overall.

Playing as individuals, Braden McKay and Matthew Kettleson posted like scores of 82 (+10) to be in a tie for 92nd overall.

In the first round, Russo was tied for second in the tournament by playing the four par-three holes at one-under par. Moore is tied for sixth overall by posting 13 pars in the opening round.

Moore is the only Wildcat to unofficially finish the second round on Monday afternoon, using his hole-in-one and five other birdies to post a 75 (+3). The rest of the scores will be completed on Tuesday morning.
