BERLIN, Md. - - Senior Ryan Rucinski led the Wilmington University golf team to a fourth place finish a the Charger Spring Classic on Monday afternoon, finishing fourth individually in the tournament hosted by Dominican College at the Ocean City Golf & Yacht Club.

Rucinski improved his second round score by two strokes on Monday, shooting a 75-73 for a 148 (+4) to finish fourth overall. The Wildcats posted scores 306-311 for a 617 (+41) to placed fourth in the regional tournament.

St. Thomas Aquinas won the event with rounds of 295-302 for a 597 (+21) while Dominican finished second with rounds of 300-299 for a 599 (+23). Concordia rounded out the top three with scores of 298-307 for a 605 (+29).

Rucinski birdied the par four eighth and the par five ninth to get back to even par at the turn in round two, and again got back to even par for the round with a birdie on the par five 14^th. But the senior bogeyed the par four 15^th before finishing with three straight pars to end his round with a 73 (+1).

Arvy Shongwe also improved his second round score by two strokes, finishing in a tie for 13^th overall with rounds of 78-76 for a 154 (+10). Starting on the fourth hole, Shongwe birdied three straight holes to get to one-under par in the second round, and sank a birdie putt on the par four 18^th to again get back to even for his round. But he ended his round at four-over par over his final three holes to finish with a 76 (+4).

Braden McKay finished 18^th overall with rounds of 76-81 on Monday, shooting a 157 (+13). In the first round, McKay had an eagle on the par five 12^th to get back to even par and had two birdies in the second round.

Jack Dixon finished tied for 22^nd overall with rounds of 77-83 for a 160 (+16) while Matthew Kettleson rounded out the Wildcats on the course with a tied for 24^th place finish and rounds of 80-81 for 161 (+17).

St. Thomas Aquinas' Jake Yarmolowitz earned medalist honors for the tournament, being the only golfer to finish under par for the two rounds. He posted scores of 69-74 for a 143 (-1) for the win. Dominican's Sebastian Armas was second with even par rounds of 72-72 for a 144 (E). St. Thomas Aquinas' Travis Fay rounded out the top three with rounds of 72-74 for a 146 (+2) for the tournament.
