
WEST CHESTER, Pa. - - Four Wildcats are sitting in the Top 12 after the first round of the Dr. Edwin Cottrell Invitational as the Wilmington University golf team leads the tournament following a 295 (+11) on Monday at the Penn Oaks Golf Club.
The Wildcats are four strokes ahead of St. Thomas Aquinas and seven strokes ahead of Goldey-Beacom heading into Tuesday.
Pablo Quintero and Josh Freeman lead the Wildcats and are tied for second overall after a 73 (+2). They are one stroke off the lead, secured by Shepherd's Joey Leisinger, but also tied with four other student-athletes in second with a 73 (+2).
Noah Wallace is a shot behind his teammates in a tie for eighth overall, shooting an opening round 74 (+3). Sacha Brown rounded out the Wildcats' scoring on Monday, shooting a 75 (+4) in the opening round to sit in a tie for 12th overall.
Christian Ramirez closed out the Wildcats on Monday, shooting a 79 (+8) to sit in a tie for 33 overall.
St. Thomas Aquinas is in second following a 299 (+15) on Monday while Goldey-Beacom is third after a 302 (+18).
Tuesday concludes the Dr. Edwin Cottrell Invitational at Penn Oaks Golf Club.
