BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – With a slow start to the game, the Wilmington University men's basketball team found themselves a second half comeback, but was not enough as Concordia stayed on top to win, 95-89 at the Meyer Athletic Center Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats (6-9, 3-3 CACC) saw themselves down 15 points to begin the game against Concordia (5-10, 2-4 CACC) before Jermaine Head got the men on the board with a three-pointer with 16:05 to go in the first half. Concordia would get out to their largest lead of the game of 27 points with 3:13 to play until halftime. WilmU was able to cut it to a 21 point lead into halftime, 56-35.

The Clippers were able to jump out to a 25 point lead to start the second half, with a score of 62-37, but Wilmington finally saw some daylight. Jordan Harding started a 29-9 run by the Wildcats in the second half with 17:17 to play in the game by knocking down a three-pointer. Jermaine Head and Danny Walsh followed with back-to-back threes of their own to bring the deficit to within 15. Another 14-7 run by the Wildcats would bring them within eight points, forcing Concordia to take their first time out of the half.

Wilmington would hit four more treys, including Danny Walsh's three-pointer that would bring the Wildcats to within four points of the Clippers, 72-68 lead with 9:18 to play in regulation. Concordia would hold around an eight-point lead with 5:19 to play, until Danny Walsh made it a five-point game with 3:42 to play.

Neither team would find the back of the net, until Thomas Farrior went to the line for the Wildcats with 1:40 left in the second half to knock down two free-throws and put the Wildcats within three. The Clippers were able to extend their lead back to seven points but Danny Walsh would hit his seventh three of the game to put the Wildcats back within four. The Wildcats would only come within four, after forcing to foul with 24 seconds left to play, putting the Clippers to the foul-line.

The Wildcats shot 59.4 percent from the floor in the second half while making 10 three-pointers. Concordia shot 57.9 percent in the first half, for a 55.4 percent shooting percentage for the game.

Danny Walsh led all scorers with 28 points, going 10-15 from the floor and 7-10 from behind the arc. Jermaine Head scored 21 points, while shooting 8-14 from the floor and dishing out a season-high 12 assists. Thomas Farrior would be the third Wildcat to score 20 points in the contest, while grabbing six rebounds.

The Wildcats are back in action this Wednesday when they travel to USciences for a 7:30 start time.
