Carson Talboys and Kostis Parisis Earn CACC Player of the Week Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Wilmington University men's soccer team continues to roll through the beginning stages of its 2021 schedule, earning two more Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Players of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The Wildcats' Carson Talboys (Huntersville, N.C.) was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Week while his goalkeeper Konstantinos Parisis (Thessaloniki, Greece) was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Week. It is the second time this season that both Talboys and Parisis has earned CACC Player of the Week honors.

Carson Talboys did all his offensive damage on Tuesday at Jefferson, scoring the first two goals and assisting on the fourth to open CACC play with a 4-0 victory. He scored both goals with headers, finishing off corner kicks in the first half. He then cross a ball over to Colby Niggebrugge, setting up his 25-yard blast. He then anchored the defense in Saturday's 2-0 victory, not allowing a goal all week. He now has three goals and an assist on the year.

Konstantinos Parisis has extended his shutout streak to 195:14 minutes with a pair of clean sheets this week. He was only called on to make two saves, but recorded the stops to help the Wildcats to a 2-0 mark this week. He's only allowed one goal in the last 433:51 minutes of game action.

Shawn Genus scored two more goals this week and was named to the Weekly Honor Roll, as was volleyball's Angel Oliver.

The Wildcats head to Millersville on Wednesday night for their final nonconference match of the year before returning home on Saturday against Nyack.
