Men’s Soccer Moves Up One Spot to No. 9 in Latest United Soccer Coaches National Poll

NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University men's soccer team moved up one spot to No. 9 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II National Poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

It is the third time in program history the Wildcats have been ranked in single digits, with the best being No. 8 in 2019. The Wildcats remain at No. 2 in East Region.

The Wildcats needed overtime in both their games last week, as Hakim Williams played the hero in both contests. He scored in the 99th minute at Millersville for a 2-1 win and then scored in the 102nd minute against Nyack to win, 1-0, at home on Saturday.

In the East Region, the Wildcats only trail Franklin Pierce who moved up to No. 1 in this week's National Poll. They are 9-0-0 on the year and have only given up two goals on the year. They moved up to No. 1 in the country after the University of Indianapolis tied Lewis, 1-1.

The Northeast 10's American International is still undefeated at 8-0-1 and remains at No. 3 in the East, but moved up four spots to No. 18 in this week's National Poll. The only other team in the CACC ranked in the East Region is Georgian Court at No. 4 with a 5-0-2 overall record.
