NEW ORLEANS, La. - - The Wilmington University Men's Track & Field team is ranked sixth in the NCAA Division II East Region U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Week 2 Poll.
This marks the second week in a row the Men's team has been ranked on the regional poll. The Wildcats moved down two spots from last week's poll, where they were ranked as high as No. 4 in the East Region.
The rankings are determined by each athletes' personal bests on the season so far. Once each time or distance is determined for the week, it receives a number ranking comparative to the rest of the region. The number ranking then is tallied by a total point system, which calculates the regional rankings. The Wilmington University Men's Track & Field team scored 413.21 total points after Week 2.
The Wildcats have 12 individual events ranked in the top 10 of the East Region. Tyler Levons has three Top 10 rankings in the region in the 100-meter dash (3rd), the 200-meter dash (5th), and the 400-meter run (10th). Akeel Blake also has three Top-10 marks in the East Region.
