NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Thirty-two (32) student-athletes on Tuesday were named to the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Nine of the 12 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.
The Wildcats are led by three-time honoree and CACC Top XVI Award winner Logan Strouse, featuring a perfect 4.0 GPA. Daniel Wyshinski is a two-time honoree while Hayward Boutte and Matthew Hibbert earn a spot on the All-Academic Team for the first time in their careers.
Caldwell University led the way with six honorees making the squad, while Georgian Court University and Thomas Jefferson University were next with five student-athletes achieving academic status.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
- Jefferson's Owen Bradley and Wilmington University's Logan Strouse each posted perfect grade point averages of 4.0, and were the only two on the list to do so.
- Eight student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
- Five were named to the CACC MOTF All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers.
- Eleven (11) were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
