Four Wildcats Named to 2024 CACC Men’s Track and Field All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Twenty-four (24) student-athletes on Friday were named to the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Eight of the 10 CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team. 

The Wilmington University men's track and field team led the way with two other programs with a league high four student-athletes on the team.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution (both academically and athletically).

The Wildcats are led by three-time honoree Dan Wyshinski, earning his MSM in management as a graduate student. Both Matt Hibbert and Hayward Boutte are two-time honorees on the CACC All-Academic Team. Trent Taylor puts his name on the Track and Field Team as well for the first time in his career as well.

CACC Champion Holy Family University was one of three schools to lead the way with four honorees making the academic squad. The other two schools having four honorees apiece were Georgian Court University and Wilmington University.

NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM:

  • Five student-athletes posted GPAs of 3.90 or higher including Caldwell University's Ervin Chaush, Ervin Geddes, Chestnut Hill College's Jason Fisher, Georgian Court's Kyle Spector and HFU's Michael McGerry.
  • Nine student-athletes were named to the team for the third time in their respective careers.
  • Three more were named to the team for the second time in their respective careers.
