NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Following the 2019-20 men's and women's basketball seasons, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference has announced the 2019-20 All-Academic Honorees, which included six individuals from Wilmington University's men's and women's basketball teams.
Wilmington University women's basketball team earned four student-athletes to list, including senior guard Mikala Casimir, who earned a 3.54 cumulative grade point average while studying Computer & Network Security. This is Casimir's third time to earn the All-Academic award. Among Casimir is junior Jonna Maddox who maintained a 3.78 cumulative GPA while majoring in Criminal Justice. Maddox earned the All-Academic honoree for the second time throughout her career.
The women were concluded with sophomores Emily Ansah and Kiara Eubanks who earned a spot on the All-Academic list for the first time in their careers. Ansah earned a 3.60 cumulative GPA while studying psychology, while Eubanks maintained a 3.73 cumulative GPA majoring in health sciences.
On the men's side, sophomores Danny Sullivan and Alvin West represented the Wildcats on the All-Academic list for the first time throughout their careers. Sullivan maintained a 3.65 cumulative grade point average while majoring in business, as West has sustained a 3.52 cumulative GPA studying health sciences.
The CACC totaled 55 student-athletes to the 2019-20 men's and women's basketball All-Academic teams. The women totaled 44 student-athletes across 12 schools, while the men totaled 11 honorees across nine Universities.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
