Six Wildcats Take Place on 2022 CACC Women’s Lacrosse All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The Wilmington University women's lacrosse team placed six student-athletes on the 2021-22 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

The Wildcats, who reached the CACC Tournament Semifinals this past spring, were led by three two-time honorees in Tori Grubowski, Julianna Kolakowski, and Marisa Swanson. Jenna Banks, Lauren Gresham, and Katie Vindigni joined the All-Academic Team as well this year for the first time.

Thomas Jefferson University led the way with 11 honorees, including Melanie Goldstein with a team-high mark of 3.97. Reigning CACC champ Georgian Court had seven honorees make the squad.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Seventeen (17) of the honorees earned GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Twenty-four (24) of the honorees made the CACC Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team for the second time.
  • Nine of the honorees made the All-Academic squad for the third time.
  • Felician University's Emileigh Esposito made the All-Academic team for the fourth time.
