Women’s Soccer Places Six Wildcats on CACC All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Wilmington University women's soccer team compiled six student-athletes to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team this year, which was made up of 74 honorees throughout the league.

Juniors Krysta Memis and Alexis Johnson, along with sophomores Viviana Caamano, Daryan Fennal, Allison Hartwyk, and Emily Navarrete each earned the All-Academic award for their performances in the classroom throughout the season.

Junior midfielder Krysta Memis earned the All-Academic honor for the second time throughout her career this year, as she maintained a 4.00 cumulative grade point average in the legal studies field. Her fellow classmate, Alexis Johnson is also a two-time honoree with a 3.76 GPA, while majoring in behavioral science.

Viviana Caamano also maintained a 4.00 cumulative grade point average, while majoring in mid-level education this season, as Allison Hartwyk maintained a 3.79 cumulative GPA in the Biology field. Emily Navarrete compiled a 3.57 GPA in the political science field to round out the six Wildcats.

Nine out of 11 teams throughout the CACC had at least five student-athletes earn the All-Academic award for their respective team.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.
