
MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - - The Wilmington University women's tennis team opened its 2025 spring season with a 6-1 victory over Millersville on Wednesday afternoon at McComsey Tennis Courts.
The Wildcats remain undefeated on the 2024-25 season, now sitting at 13-0.
Wednesday started with the Wildcats winning all three doubles matches. Ines Oliveira and Molly Carlberg won at No. 3 doubles, 6-1, before Ming Fu Chen and Gloria Barcaro gave the Wildcats the point with a 6-2 win at No. 2. Liza Sylka and Siana MacDonald made it a clean sweep with a 7-5 victory at No. 1.
Ming-Fu Chen started the singles matches with a 6-0 and 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Kushi Khandoji quickly made it 3-0 with a 6-2 and 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles. Siana MacDonald secured the victory with a win at No. 2 singles, 6-2 and 6-4.
Ines Oliveira made it 5-0 with a 6-1 and 6-3 victory while Molly Carlberg won at No. 1 singles, 6-3 and 6-2, for the team's sixth point.
Millersville got on the board at No. 3 singles to close out the match, as Lauren Hayes defeated Liza Sylka, 6-4 and 7-5.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday night when they host Delaware State at the Delcastle Tennis Center. The first serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
