NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Running in a tough field of competition, Wilmington University cross country student-athletes Dan Wyshinski and Ethyn Peck were selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Runner and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
The duo led the Wildcats to a fourth place finish at Kutztown's DII/DIII Challenge, being one of five regionally ranked teams in either NCAA Division II or III in the 8K race at the Farm Course on the campus of Kutztown. The Wildcats collected 115 points in fourth place, ahead of the only other Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference team in the field, Georgian Court, who finished sixth overall with 147 points.
Dan Wyshinski (Pennsville, N.J.) again led the Wildcats with a 12th place finish, running the 8K course in 27:03.9. He was the top CACC finisher in the field and just the fifth student-athlete to cross that isn't a member of Shippensburg, the second ranked team in the Atlantic Region according to the USTFCCCA.
Ethyn Peck (Friendsville, Md.) earns back-to-back CACC Rookie of the Week honors after finishing 33rd overall at the DII/DIII Challenge. He ran his 8K race in 28:26.9, being the fourth Wildcat to cross and give the team 31 points.
Tiffany Banning earned a spot on the Women's Weekly Honor roll after leading the women's team with a 22nd place finish at Kutztown as well.
