Wildcats Place Four on 2024 CACC Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Commissioner Dan Mara released the 2024 CACC Women's Cross-Country All-Academic Team on Tuesday. The team consists of 23 student-athletes representing eight conference institutions.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must possess a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at the end of the immediately preceding term (may include summer for fall-sport participants), must be enrolled for at least two full-time semesters at his/her current institution, and must be a second-year student-athlete at his/her current institution. The CACC All-Academic Team was instituted during the 2004-05 academic year.

The Wildcats placed four student-athletes on the CACC All-Academic Team, tied for second in the CACC. Meeting the qualifying criteria was two-time honoree Tiffany Banning with a 3.99 cumulative grad point average. Joining her on the team for the first time was Abby Chomo with a 4.0 in graduate school, sophomore Angie Chomo with a 4.00, and sophomore Cassidy Burr with a 3.63 GPA.

Thomas Jefferson University, the 2024 CACC champion, led the league by placing six runners on the All-Academic Team. Holy Family University and Wilmington University claimed four honorees apiece.

Among the student-athletes recognized were five who maintain a perfect 4.00 GPA – Samantha Lonseth and Brenna Sullivan of Georgian Court University; Jefferson's Audrey Pham, and sisters Abby Chomo and Angie Chomo of Wilmington. A total of eight honorees carry a GPA of 3.90 or higher.

The 23 CACC All-Academic Women's Cross-Country honorees are one fewer than the amount on the 2023 team. The complete list can be viewed by clicking the link above.
