DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - - Competing against the top groups in the country, the Wilmington University cheerleading duo of Caleb Tuszynski and Alyssa Mellace placed fifth at the 2022 National Cheerleaders (NCA) Collegiate Cheer Partner Stunt Championship on Saturday.

Nearly 20 partner stunt groups performed at the Daytona Beach Bandshell on Saturday. The Wildcats had a raw score of 51.8 and finished with an event score of 86.3333, with only four other partner stunt groups finishing better.

The top three partner stunt groups were from Weber State University, with the winning duo having a raw score of 59.2333 and an event score of 98.7222. a group from the University of Central Florida finished just above Tuszynski and Mellace in fourth place with a raw score of 51.8333 and an event score of 86.3889.
