Junior Jordan Lamb hit a day one best 71 in the second round to sit atop the leaderboard after the first two rounds of the Dennis Rose Invitational on the Waikoloa Kings' Course, hosted by Hawaii at Hilo.

After posting a 315 team score in the morning, the Wildcats came back with a second round low 304 to sit in third place out of 13 teams after the first day of play at the tournament. The Wildcats are five strokes off the lead at 619, 43-over par as a team.

Lamb shot a 76 in the first round but then tied the day's low with a 71 in the afternoon; the only player to shoot below par in the second round. His 147 two-round score puts him in front by a stroke at three-over par.

Sophomore Freddy Braun is in a tie for fourth overall, shooting a 74-75 in the two round, posting a five-over par score. Sophomore Sam Clark came back with a 79 in the second round after shooting an 81 in the opening round to post a 160, 16-over par score on the first day.

Junior Alex Healy shot an 84-81 for a 165, 21-over par score on Friday while junior Andreas Lunding posted an 86-79 for a two-round score of 165, 21-over par score. Both Healy and Lunding are in a tie for 55^th overall after two rounds.

Matt DiEleuterio posted an 82-76 for a 158, 14-over par score as an individual, sitting in a tie for 28^th overall.

Host Hawaii-Hilo leads the tournament with a 614 while St. Edwards sits in second with a 617 after the first day. Hawaii Hilo's Dalen Yamauchi and Ric Yamamoto trail Lamb by one stroke for medalist honors.

The third and final round of the Dennis Rose Invitational is schedule for Saturday morning.
