ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - - Freshman Joe Russo led the Wilmington University golf team on day two of the Jay Jennison Memorial at The Palencia Club, finishing in a tie for ninth overall at the tournament hosted by Flagler College.

Russo shot a team low 75 on Tuesday, finishing the three-round, two-day tournament with a 74-71-75 for a 220, four-over par score. He was eight strokes from the top of the leaderboard at the end of the tournament.

Russo's round was highlighted by a birdie on the ninth hole, a hole he birdied twice during the three-round tournament. His seven birdies in the three rounds were a team high.

As a team, the Wildcats shot a 311 on Tuesday, finishing the tournament with a 919, 55 over-par score. Their 296-313-311 was good enough to finish 11^th out of 14 teams in the tournament.

Junior Andreas Lunding finished with an 81 to complete a three round score of 233, 17-over par. He placed in a tie for 48^th at the end of the tournament.

Junior Jordan Lamb finished the tournament with a 76 on Tuesday, rounding out his first tournament as a Wildcat with a 73-85-76 for a three-round score of 234, 18-over par. He placed in a tie for 52^nd overall.

Senior Alexander Lautenschlager shot an 80 on Tuesday to finish with a 75-81-80 for a three-round score of 236, 20-over par. He came in a tie for 57^th overall.

Senior Matt DiEleuterio and sophomore Sam Clark also shot 80's on Tuesday, as DiEleuterio finished with an 82-82-80 for a three-round score of 244, 28-over par and in 68^th place. Clark finished with an 85-82-80 for a three-round score of 247, 31-over par and in a tie for 70th.

Host Flagler took home the team championship with a 298 on Tuesday, coming home with an 873 three-round score, nine-over par. They were 12 stroke better than Wingate who placed second overall after a 292 on Tuesday.

Wingate's Benedict Gebhardt took home medalist honors with a four under three-round score, shooting a 71 on Tuesday to finish strong. He was three-strokes better than Limestone's Griffin Brown and Flagler's Spence Schindler.

The Wildcats head back to Florida in two weeks to compete in the Guy Harvey Invitational starting on October 6. The tournament is hosted by Nova Southeastern in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
