An 18-0 run to start the second quarter carried #WilmUWBB to its first win of the season, defeating Penn State Brandywine, 69-34, on Monday night at the WU Athletics Complex. Not only was Monday night the first win of the season for the Wildcats (1-23), but it will also go down as the first collegiate coaching victory for first-year head coach Dave Cranston. The defense held Penn State Brandywine to 16.7 percent shooting from the floor for the game and had 19 points off 20 PSUB turnovers. TyKeisha Hill and Armani Bell-Jackson led the Wildcats with 16 points each while Jasmine McDuffie secured a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Emma Brown scored eight points while leading the team with 11 rebounds. Daja Claiborne scored nine points to go with nine rebounds while Mya Nisbet dished out four assists.
