Alyssa Palmucci joins the Wildcats coaching staff with a strong background in soccer, having played Division-I college soccer at East Carolina University, UMBC, and Drexel University, as well as competing in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). With a unique perspective on coaching styles, including player development, motivation, communication, and a positive atmosphere, Palmucci brings valuable experience to the team. Additionally, she has served as a coach at various clubs and camps, holds a U.S. National D-License, and is pursuing her master's degree in clinical research organizational management at Drexel University.
Palmucci had an impressive collegiate career, starting at East Carolina University (ECU) where she played in 12 games as a freshman and earned recognition on the ACC All-Academic Team. She later transferred to UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County), where she played in 42 games as part of the American East conference.
During her career, Palmucci continued to excel in soccer, competing in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) for eight seasons. She played for Penn Fusion and Philly Fever during this time. Notably, Palmucci made history as the youngest player ever to start in a WPSL game, showcasing her talent and dedication to the sport.
Unfortunately, Palmucci's playing career was cut short due to a career-ending injury during the 2023 season at Drexel University. Despite this setback, her contributions to collegiate and elite amateur soccer highlight her skill and commitment to the game.
Palmucci had an outstanding high school career at Kingsway Regional High School, where she lettered for four years and contributed significantly to the team's success. Her efforts helped the Dragons secure two Tri-County Championships and achieve an impressive overall record of 39-17-3 during her time there. In 2017, under her leadership, Kingsway Regional earned a notable Top 20 ranking in New Jersey.
Palmucci's achievements were recognized on a national level when she was selected as a Top Drawer Soccer High School All-American top 200 player in 2018. She also earned accolades closer to home as a NJGSCA All-State Selection and was named among the NJ.com Top 75 Players in New Jersey.
Beyond high school soccer, Palmucci excelled with club teams such as PDA and LMSC Storm. With LMSC Storm, she played a key role in winning the PA State Cup in 2016, 2017, and 2019, and finishing as finalists in 2014 and 2015. Her contributions helped the team achieve the prestigious GotSoccer No. 1 national ranking in 2019.
Additionally, Palmucci represented New Jersey on the ODP team from 2014 to 2016, further demonstrating her talent and dedication to the sport at a statewide level.
Coaching experience on the club level and beyond, Palmucci has served on the U.S. Naval Academy soccer camp staff for the last 4 years as well as SJEB College Prep Program. Palmucci started her coaching career at Lower Merion Soccer Club and is currently training and coaching at the Pittsgrove Soccer Club. Palmucci holds a U.S. National D-License.
Palmucci graduated with a B.S. degree in Biology from UMBC and is finishing her M.S. degree in Clinical Research Organizational Management (CROM) at Drexel University. Palmucci is presently employed at Children's Hospital (CHOP) as a research assistant.
Overall, Palmucci's impressive career in college, high school, and club soccer highlights her skill, leadership, and commitment to excellence both on and off the field, making her a valuable asset to the women's soccer program.
