Baseball in East Region Tournament Championship

The Wilmington University baseball team needed to win two games on Sunday to claim the 2015 NCAA East Region Tournament Championship and did so with a 5-3 victory over top-seed and nationally top-ranked Franklin Pierce in the opener and an 11-9 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas in the final. The Wildcats were behind, 5-0, in the final before mounting the comeback with a six run second inning. Tyler Fries was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Performer while Sean Feeney and Josh Swirchak were named to the All-Tournament Team. Copyright 2015; Wilmington University. All rights reserved.
