Quintin Ivy, JJ Killen, and Haley Downin Named CACC Players of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - The diamond sports produced three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Players of the Week for their work last week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Quintin Ivy (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney) repeated as the CACC Baseball Player of the week while teammate JJ Killen (Frankford, Del./Indian River) was named the CACC Baseball Rookie of the Week. WilmU softball's Haley Downin (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) was named the CACC Softball Rookie of the Week.

Ivy stayed red hot for the baseball team, batting 9-for-15 with 11 RBI in four game played. The week started by going 6-for-7 with three doubles, two homers, nine RBI, and seven runs scored in a doubleheader against Nyack. He batted 4-for-5 with two doubles, a homer, and six RBI in the opener before going 2-for-2 with a double, a homer, and three RBI in the nightcap. He then batted 3-for-7 in a doubleheader against Jefferson, adding another double and two more RBI. He finished the week batting .600 with a .611 on-base percentage, and a 1.267 slugging percentage.

Whoever Ivy didn't hit in last week, JJ Killen was there to clean up as well. Killen batted 8-for-9 in three starts last week, collecting two doubles, a homer, five RBI and eight runs scored. He was on base 93.3 percent of his plate appearances, earning four walks and being hit by two pitches as well. He started by going 3-for-3 with a double and a homer in game one against Nyack, knocking in four while scoring three more. He also went 2-for-2 with two walks in the nightcap. He then batted 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored in game one against Jefferson.

On the other diamond, Haley Downin led the Wildcats with 13 hits in eight games last week, mainly form the leadoff position. She batted 13-for-28 (.464) while hitting her first collegiate career home run, adding two RBI and eight runs scored. She also appeared in the circle in four games, going 1-0 with a 0.84 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched. She struck out 13 batters while only allowing two runs on seven hits and four walks. She went 6-for-7 with a homer, two RBI, and three runs scored in a CACC doubleheader sweep at Post, and added two hits in game one at Kutztown, and two hits in game two at Molloy. Her win came at Post as well, throwing a complete game shutout (five innings) with four strikeouts and only allowing one hit and one walk.

Softball's Annie Davila was named to the CACC Honor Roll this week after hitting .474 with three homers, seven RBI, and five runs scored. Women's lacrosse's Brooke Siebert was also named to the CACC Honor Roll after scoring seven goals to go with four assists, nine draws, seven ground balls, and four caused turnovers in a 2-0 week last week.
