WATERBURY, Conn. - - Post swept the Wilmington University baseball team on a pair of walk-offs on Sunday at Municipal Stadium, 2-1, with the nightcap going 10 innings in a battle between two regionally ranked teams and the top team in each Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Division.

GAME 1:

The Eagles scored on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh of game one to win the opener, 2-1.

Rich Albrecht went six innings and allowed a run on five hits, striking out four batters in the no decision. Dom Grady came on and allowed a leadoff single in the seventh. The Eagles sacrificed the runner over, moved up to third on a wild pitch, and hit a fly ball to left to score the run and win the game.

The Wildcats couldn't get much going against Post starter Matt Goehrig, only scoring a run on a fielder's choice in the fourth to tie the game, 1-1. Nick Nocella started the inning with a double and Eddie Parry followed with a single to left to put runner son the corners. JJ Killen beat out a double play ball for the RBI as Nocella scored.

The Wildcats left two runners on in the second, one on in the fourth, and one on in the sixth.

GAME 2:

It took longer but the end result was the same, as the Eagles walked off with a win in the bottom of the 10th for the sweep. It was another pitcher's duel in the nightcap, starting with the Wildcats' Tyler Reiner and the Eagles' Derek Duval.

Nick Nocella led off the scoring with a two-out solo blast to left in the top of the first.

Reinert went through the Eagles' lineup with allowing a base runner, but then the Eagles answered in the fourth. A leadoff triple came home to score on a sacrifice fly as the game was tied, 1-1.

Zach Czarnecki led off the fifth with a single and was moved up to second on a sacrifice bunt. But the Eagles induced a pop up and a grounder, leaving Czarnecki on second.

The Eagles started the seventh with a single and had two runners on with one out. Reinert buckled down and got a strikeout and a ground ball to end the inning and send the game into extra innings.

Nick Nocella singles in the ninth, but interference was called on a strikeout and stolen base attempt, ending the inning.

A leadoff walk in the 10th was nearly erased as Nate McLain got the next two batters out. But a walk and a single scored the winning run, 2-1.

Tyler Reinert struck out nine in 7.0 innings and then Tyler Brown pitched a scoreless eighth. McLain had three strikeouts in 1.2 inning but was saddled with the loss.
