NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Freshman standout Tre Hawkins was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week on Monday, as announced by the conference office.
It is the first time in his career that the freshman forward as earned a CACC Player of the Week award, earning the title after leading the Wildcats in their effort at Millersville last week.
Tre Hawkins (Waldorf, Md.) shot 8-of-12 from the floor and 1-of-1 from the foul line on November 19 at Millersville, leading the team with 17 points. He also added four rebounds and two steals in the team's loss. The 17 points were a season high so far in his first collegiate season.
On the season, the freshman is fourth on the team in scoring 10.0 points per game while ranking second on the team in grabbing 4.7 rebounds per contest.
Bridgeport's Alious Cisse and Caldwell's De'Angelo Horn was named CACC Co-Players of the Week while Caldwell's Derrick Bueno was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
