TJ Caton and Nick Bruhn Named USILA Honorable Mention All-Americans

NEWARK, Del. - - A pair of Wilmington University men's lacrosse student-athletes have been named Honorable Mention All-Americans as the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) has announced its NCAA Division II Teams and Award Winners.

The Wildcats' TJ Caton and Nick Bruhn become the program's second and third All-Americans in its brief history, joining Logan Stinson's status from 2022. Both Caton and Burke were listed as 2023 Honorable Mention All-Americans.

TJ Caton (Palmyra, Pa.), the CACC Player of the Year, was named a USILA All-American Honorable Mention as a midfielder, scoring 36 goals to go with 17 assists for 53 points, adding a team leading 59 ground balls, and 13 caused turnovers. He finished 35th in NCAA DII in scoring 4.00 points per game while leading the team in ranking 45th in the country with 4.54 ground balls per contest. Caton scored a season high seven goals at Felician, adding an assist for a season's best eight points. He set a new career best with nine ground balls against Post.

Nick Bruhn (Burke, Va.), the CACC Defensive Player of the Year, paced the CACC with 26 caused turnovers on the season, finishing 12th in all of NCAA DII in averaging 2.00 caused turnovers per game. He was also second on the team, and first on the defensive unit, with 53 ground balls, appearing in all 13 games while making eight starts. He also got into the offensive mix on transition, scoring a goal while adding three assists this year. He scored at No. 3 Mercy and assists on goals against Caldwell, Bridgeport, and Chestnut Hill in the CACC Tournament. Bruhn had a season high 11 ground balls against Caldwell, while setting a single game record with five caused turnovers in three separate games. He was named a USILA All-American Honorable Mention as a long-stick midfielder.

Mercyhurst's Shawn Doran was named the USILA Division II Player of the Year while Wingate's Willie Grieco was named the Attackman of the Year. Pace's Anthony Caputo was voted the Midfielder of the Year while UIndy's Kyle Basch earned Defender of the Year. Rollins' Shahe Katchadurian picked up the final award, earning Goalie of the Year.

Players selected for All-American were nominated by their coach and then received votes from the All-American Committee.
