Wildcats Stay Unbeaten in CACC Play with 29-9 Victory at Caldwell

CALDWELL, N.J. - - The Wilmington University men's lacrosse team used 13 different goal scorers to stay unbeaten in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play on Wednesday, defeating Caldwell, 29-9, at the Essex Valley Field.

The Wildcats remained unbeaten in CACC play and are now 5-0 atop the standings. They have won four straight to improve to 6-3 on the season.

The Wildcats scored the first seven goals of the game on Wednesday, leading 6-0 after the first quarter. Four different Wildcats scored the six goals in the opening quarter, as Carter Earl started the game with the first goal. Jacob Herman, Logan Stinson, and Jon Gaglione all followed to make it 4-0, and then Herman and Stinson scored again, with Stinson's coming with just one second on the clock, to lead, 6-0, after one quarter.

Carter Earl again started the second quarter scoring to make it 7-0 with 14:28 into the second. Caldwell scored three of the next four goals to get on the board and close to within 8-3, nut then the Wildcats finished the half with five consecutive goals. Miles Crouse scored on the man-advantage before Logan Stinson, Layton Avant, Jon Gaglione, and Stinson once more scored to make it a 13-3 game going into the halftime break.

Wilmington scored a game high nine goals in the third quarter using a 5-0 run to take an 18-4 lead. Logan Stinson scored three straight before TJ Caton hit on a man-down opportunity with 9:10 to play in the quarter. Josh Weston got in the boxscore with back-to-back goals before Jacob Herman and Weston finished off the quarter with goals to make it 22-6.

Stinson started the fourth quarter with a behind-the-back goal before Caton took the ensuing faceoff and scored. Gavin Paraschak got into the scoring column with his first goal, making it 25-6 with 12:06 to play in the fourth. Joshua Leavery and Paraschak scored back-to-back goals before Lou Savino and Justin Solomon made it 13 different Wildcats to score with the final two goals of the game, 29-9.

Logan Stinson led the Wildcats with eight goals and two assists while Jacob Herman finished with three goals and three assists. Jon Gaglione and Josh Weston scored three goals each while Miles Crouse finished with five points (one goal, four assists). Gavin Paraschak added two goals and two assists while Carter Earl and TJ Caton had two goals as well.

The Wildcats went 28-for-35 at the faceoff spot, with Carnell Lofton Jr winning 16, Connor Widmer winning all seven, and Lou Savino winning five.

Wilmington returns home for a key CACC matchup on Saturday. They host second place Georgian Court at the WU Athletics Complex with the opening faceoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
