NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Freshman Sara Miller was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball Rookie of the Week for her effort in the doubleheader against Caldwell, as announced by the conference office.

The Wildcats (4-2, 4-2 CACC) split with the Cougars in their only action last year, and Miller (Clayton, Del./Smyrna) batted 3-for-6 with a run and an RBI from the leadoff position.

She did most of her damage in the game one win, batting 3-for-3 with an RBI from the leadoff position. She gave the Wildcats an insurance run in the fourth, hitting a two-out single back up the middle to score Danielle Hess for the 4-2 lead. She led walked in the fifth inning and scored on an Annie Davila double.

The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday when they host Chestnut Hill in another CACC doubleheader at Asbury Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. in New Castle.
