WAYNESBORO, Pa. - - Following five matches at the Mount Shootout, the Wilmington University women's bowling team is tied for fifth out of 12 teams with a total pin fall of 4,446, going 2-3 overall at the Sunshine Lanes, hosted by Mount St. Mary's.

The Wildcats put their best match together in the final game of the day, defeating Coppin State, 949-759. They also defeated Howard in their second match of the day, 908-806. The day started with an 881-848 loss to host Mount St. Mary's while they also lost to Morgan State, 921-890. Before they played Coppin State, they faced nationally No. 13 St. Francis (Pa.), 991-851.

Individually, sophomore Malia Stout led the Wildcats, placing 14^th overall with a 923 total pin fall, finishing with a 184.60 average. Her 923 five-game series is the fourth best in program history. She had a day's high 217 in the first match against Mount St. Mary's, following it up with games of 208, 144, 140, and 214.

Clare Chaffer ranked 23^rd in the tournament, finishing with an 886 total pin fall, bowling a 177.20 average. She had a day's high 206 in the final match of the day, finishing with scores of 169-198-153-160-206 for her 886.

Rachel Hirst was right before Chaffer in 25^th overall, finishing with a total pin fall of 881 for an average game score of 176.20. She had a day's high of 192 against St. Francis, finishing the day with scores of 173-182-177-192-157 for her 881.

Freshman Jocelyn Hood competed in four matches, finishing in 42^nd overall with a total pin fall of 712. She set a new personal match high with a 215 against Morgan State, adding a 201 against St. Francis.

Sophomore Bailey Peters also competed in four matches on Saturday, bowling a day's high 201 against Morgan State. She bowled games of 146-179-201-158 in the first four matches of the day for a 684, bowling a 171.00 average.

Sinoda Cook bowled in one match on Saturday, bowling a team best 219 against Coppin State. Leah Henry also competed in one match on Saturday, bowling a 141 against Howard in the second match of the day.

St. Francis (Pa.) leads the tournament with a total pin fall of 4,876, averaging 195.0 per bowler. Roberts Wesleyan's Emily Notebaert leads the tournament with a 209.40 average, knocking down 1,047 pins in a five-match series.

Sunday will bring two baker matches, first against Morgan State and then against Mount Aloysius before heading into bracket style baker matches.
