NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - A pair of Wilmington University women's soccer student-athletes have been named First Team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference ahead of appearing in the CACC Tournament First Round contest on Tuesday, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Senior Rebecca Dolhansky was named to the First Team as a midfielder for the second time in her career, earning All-CACC for the third time overall. Redshirt freshman defender Alex Keck has also been named First Team All-CACC for her play on the back line.
The duo helped lead the Wildcats to an 8-9-1 overall record, earning the sixth seed I the CACC with a 7-4-1 conference record. The Wildcats head to sixth seeded Holy Family on Tuesday for the CACC Tournament First Round.
Dolhansky was named First Team All-CACC as a sophomore and earned Second Team All-CACC as a junior. This year, she leads the Wildcats with 16 points overall, scoring four goals to go with eight assists. Her eight assists have her tied for second overall in the CACC. She had a season's best three points with a goal and an assist against Chestnut Hill.
Keck shined as the right back for the Wildcats before a season ending injury occurred with three games left in the regular season. She consistently got into the offensive mix from the back field, scoring once while adding four assists on the season. She tied the game, 1-1, against Daemen while adding assists against Chestnut Hill, Holy Family, and two against Concordia.
Georgian Court's Heather Arbachesky was named the CACC Player of the Year while her teammate Krystal Hund was voted as the CACC Rookie of the Year. Goldey-Beacom's Kelly Mejia was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Year and Georgian Court's Natalie Axelsson earned the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year award for being the First Team All-CACC netminder.
Goldey-Beacom's head coach Dan Frick was voted as the CACC Coach of the Year by the league's sports information directors to round out the league's Major Award Winners.
