Wildcats Remain Unbeaten in Dual Matches with 7-0 Win against Dominican

WILMINGTON, Del. - - For the second match in a row, the Wilmington University women's tennis team won all nine matches in route to a 7-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Dominican on Saturday afternoon inside the Delcastle Tennis Center.

The Wildcats remained unblemished in dual matches this season, moving to 4-0 overall and 4-0 in CACC play.

The doubles dominance has returned to the Wildcats, as they again won all three doubles matches for the point. For the second straight match, Fenna Swaan and Carmelle Vial were atop the lineup, winning at No. 1, 6-0. Jess Purdy and Neus Ramos Moreno gave the Wildcats the doubles point with a 6-0 win at No. 2 and then Alva Norberg and Valentina Ivankovic completed the sweep with a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

Marley Trifunovic started the singles scoring with a 6-0 and 6-1 win at No. 5 for the Wildcats and then Carmelle Vial gave the Wildcats a 3-0 lead with a 6-0 and 6-3 win at No. 1 singles. Jess Purdy secured the team's fourth point and team victory with a 6-1 and 6-3 at No. 2 singles.

Valentina Ivankovic kept the winning going at No. 3 singles with a 6-1 and 6-2 win and then Larize Nel stepped off the court following a 6-0 and 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles. Alva Norberg secured the bagel for the Wildcats in the closest match of the afternoon at No. 4 singles, winning 7-5 and 6-4.

The Wildcats are on the road for their next three matches, starting with a pair of midweek contests. They head to Chestnut Hill on Tuesday and then back to Philadelphia to play Jefferson on Thursday.
