Yailynn Ramirez, Vaughn Lackman, and Genna Closs Named CACC Players of the Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Three more student-athletes have caught the eye of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference as Yailynn Ramirez, Vaughn Lackman, and Genna Closs have been named Players of the Week, as announced by the conference office earlier this week.

The cross country teams competed on the course where the 2022 NCAA DII National Championships will be held in University Place, Washington, and the women's bowling team competed at the Golden Bear Classic hosted by Kutztown.

Vaughn Lackman (Eagleville, Pa.) was named the CACC Rookie of the Week and was the third Wildcat to cross the line at the D2 National Preview event, finishing in 152nd overall for 129 points with a time of 26:49.70. Dan Wyshinski earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll after leading the Wildcats with a 128th place finish for 110 points in 26:18.20.

Yailynn Ramirez (North East, Md.)paced the women's team out on the West Coast with a 142nd place finish for 123 points, finishing the 6K course in 24:06.10. She was named the CACC Women's Runner of the Week for her efforts.

At the lanes, Genna Closs was named the CACC Rookie of the Week after guiding the Wildcats to a fourth place finish at the Golden Bear Classic. In the traditional matches on Saturday, Closs finished 23rd overall with a five-match total of 918 (183.6 average). She bowled games of 209-182-188-153-186 with her Saturday high coming against Caldwell. In Baker matches on Sunday, she finished with a frame average of 19.77, collecting 19 strikes om 48 attempts, and then finished 23 of her 29 spare opportunities. She finished with an average first-ball score of 8.98 on Sunday.

The bowling team's Sydney Jones earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll after leading the Wildcats with a 12th place finish in the individual standings, bowling a 954 five-match total for a 190.8 average.

The cross country teams prepare for the CACC Championships on Sunday at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia while the bowling team returns to action on Saturday, November 5 at the Seahawk Invite on Staten Island.
