NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Highlighted by the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year in Eddie Nevins, the Wilmington University baseball team placed 10 student-athletes on the 2019 CACC All-Conference Teams, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The Wildcats are 35-16 overall and are heading to the double elimination portion of the CACC Tournament starting on Thursday. They are looking to defend their 2018 CACC Tournament Championship this weekend after earning the South Division's No. 2 seed with a 21-11 conference record this season.

Wilmington placed four student-athletes on the 2019 All-CACC First Team while six more Wildcats earned a spot on the 2019 All-CACC Second Team. Junior utility man Eddie Nevins highlights the All-Conference teams, as he becomes the first Wildcat to win the CACC Player of the Year award since Sam Goines in 2015. Nevins is the fifth Wildcat to win the CACC Player of the Year in the program's NCAA era.

Joining Nevins as a First Team All-CACC performer is first baseman Kendall Small, outfielder Luke Johnson, and utility-pitcher Dan Hyatt. Earning a spot on the second team is catcher Frank Nigro, outfielders Quintin Ivy, and Julian Kurych, starting pitchers Sean Deely, and Brad Scull, as well as reliever Zach Frederick.

Eddie Nevins (Fairfax, Va./South County) is on pace to break the single season batting average for the program, heading into the postseason with a .442 batting average. He leads the CACC with in batting, as well as with a .545 on-base percentage, a .740 slugging percentage, and 114 total bases. He is second in the league with 58 runs while third with 68 hits and 51 RBI on the year. Nevins is also fifth in the league in mashing eight home runs.

Kendall Small (Dover, Del./Dover) leads the CACC with 53 RBI on the year, batting .363 with a .435 on-bas percentage, and a .555 slugging percentage. He is also second in the CACC with 18 doubles on the year, while also ranking fifth with 66 hits, and 101 total bases. His 50 runs scored are sixth in the CACC.

Luke Johnson (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford) it tied atop the CACC leaderboard with 11 home runs, and is second overall with 52 RBI. His first four home runs came in the opening 10 games while he closed the year by hitting five homers in the final four games leading into this weekend. He is sixth in the CACC with a .380 batting average while also ranking third overall with a .701 slugging percentage.

Dan Hyatt (Newark, Del./Conrad) split time as a shortstop and starting pitcher, batting .345 with four doubles, two triples, and three homers while going 8-1 with a save and a 2.26 ERA in 13 appearances. He leads the CACC with his eight wins and the best ERA among starting pitchers at 2.26. His 70 strikeouts rank fourth in the league while he's only allowed 17 walks. Batters are hitting just .231 against the right-hander. He tossed seven innings with seven strikeouts and one walk in the CACC Tournament Play-In game on Saturday, allowing two unearned runs on four hits in the win.

Frank Nigro (Stony Point, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep) is a repeat Second Team All-CACC performer, hitting .282 on the year with 42 hits, seven doubles, four homers, and 30 RBI. He carries a .355 on-base percentage and a .409 slugging percentage into the postseason. He has been a wall behind the plate for the Wildcats, having 49 assists and a .992 fielding percentage while throwing out 15 would be base stealers.

Quintin Ivy (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney) has come on strong down the stretch for the Wildcats, batting .391 on the year with a .471 on-base percentage and a .690 slugging percentage. In 87 at-bats he has 34 hits with six doubles, one triple, and six homers for 25 RBI. He has also scored 36 runs on the year. Three of his home runs have come in his last six games played.

Julian Kurych (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) anchored centerfield for the Wildcats, batting .326 with a .474 on-base percentage, and a .643 slugging percentage. In 42 hits, he had 12 doubles, four triples, and seven homers, knocking in 35 runners while scoring 44 himself. His slugging percentage ranks fifth in the CACC while he had the seventh most homers and triples in the league.

Sean Deely (Wilmington, Del./Archmere) made 10 starts on the year, going 6-3 with one save on the year, ranking second in the CACC in striking out 12.16 batters per game. His 82 strikeouts rank third in the CACC while he's only allowed 24 walks. He has a 5.04 ERA on the year, including a 3.29 ERA against CACC opponents, with batters hitting just .259 against the right-hander.

Brad Scull (Aston Pa./Monsignor Bonner) started the year on a torrid pace before an injury set him back. He won each of his first four starts of the year, striking out double digits in three of his outings. He only allowed two runs in 27.1 innings pitched at that point, striking out 11 against Queens and Bridgeport. He's 5-0 in seven starts this year, striking out 48 batters with only five walks in 38.2 innings. He has a 1.16 ERA and batters are only hitting .200 against the right-hander.

Zach Frederick (Pine Brook, N.J./Montville Twp.) is second in the CACC with 22 appearances on the mound on the year, and is third in program history with 76 career appearances. He is 3-2 on the year with two saves in 25.2 innings pitched, striking out 21 batters. But most importantly as a reliever, all 10 inherited runners that he has come into a game for have not scored. He has a 1.79 ERA going into this weekend.

It is the first time in program history the Wildcats had 10 All-CACC performers, beating last year's mark of nine All-CACC honorees. The 2013 squad also had nine All-CACC members.

Nyack College's David Gauthier was named the CACC Pitcher of the Year while Bloomfield's Tyree Bradley was voted as the CACC Rookie of the Year. The league's sports information directors voted Felician's skipper Chris Langan as the CACC Coach of the Year. Caldwell earned the CACC Sportsmanship Award to round out the Major Award Winners.
