Juniors Josh Fawssett and Samuel Naiwo, as well as senior Vitor Lima tallied two goals each as the Wilmington University men's soccer team exploded for an 8-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Nyack on Saturday afternoon at the WU Athletics Conference.

The Wildcats (10-6, 6-4 CACC) found the back of the net at a high rate, needing only seven first half shots to score four goals and 19 shots to score eight goals in the match.  Nyack (0-13-2, 0-9-1 CACC) collected 10 shots in the match, putting three on frame.

The scoring started in the 16^th minute as Fawssett tallied his first of the match off a feed from Naiwo for his fifth goal of the season. Naiwo then collected his first goal of the season just over six minutes later as Steven O'Connor freed Naiwo on a two-on-zero for the empty net goal.

Lima made it 3-0 in the 37^th minute after a nice build up from Femi Akintunde and Adrian Tash, burying the shot on the back post for his first goal of the season. Akintunde then got on the board himself in the 44^th minute off a touch pass form Ricardo Villa inside the 18-yard box for the 4-0 halftime lead.

Fawssett added his second goal of the game 3:49 into the second half, again taking a feed from Naiwo inside the 18-yard box and slotting it home to the near post for his sixth goal of the year.

Naiwo tallied his team leading seventh of the season and second of the game in the 53^rd minute, stealing the ball away from the defense and burying the shot form 16 yards out.

Lima made it 7-0 in the 71^st minute, getting on the end of a long ball out of the back from Joe Woodley and a one-time pass from O'Connor to free him in on the goalkeeper. Joe Boulter added the eighth and final goal of the contest in the 74^th minute, scoring on a free kick bender from 25 yards out, left of the 18-yard box.

Naiwo led the team with six points while Lima's two goals came off the bench. Lima led the team with five shots and four shots on goal.

Frank Hall did not make a save in the first half to earn the victory while Zach Lee came on and made three stops to preserve the shutout.

Nyack's Philip Mol recorded one save in the first half in suffering the loss for the Warriors while Michael Reger recorded four stops in the second half.

With two games remaining in the regular season, the Wildcats have 18 points and are tied with Bloomfield in sixth place. Concordia currently leads the CACC with 23 points in the season.

The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday when they host Georgian Court for Senior Day at the WU Athletics Complex. The match is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start.
