SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - - A rebound opportunity in the 104th minute stunned the No. 22 Wilmington University men's soccer team at Shippensburg, 1-0, as the Red Raiders earned the nonconference victory on Thursday afternoon at David See Field.

All three of the Wildcats' (12-3) losses have come in overtime this season, with Thursday's loss being the second in double overtime. Shippensburg (7-7) has defeated a nationally ranked team for the second contest in a row.

The Wildcats out shot the Red Raiders, 20-11, for the match; including an 11-5 advantage in the first half. But the Wildcats only put four shots on frame and Shippensburg's Matt Harder made all four stops.

Juan Bernal had the best opportunities for the Wildcats in the first overtime, first putting a header wide in the 95th minute before putting a shot on goal in the 96th minute. Harder came up with the save to send the game into the second overtime.

Clifford Nwechefom had a chance in the 103rd minute, but his shot sailed high, leaving the door open for Shippensburg. David Katz' show was blocked at 103:12 but the ball bounced right to Robert Furfaro who blasted his sixth goal of the season three seconds later.

Nwechefom led the Wildcats with eight shots, putting two shots on goal. Lance Berry and Josh Fawssett each tallied three shots while Kristofer Michael and Bernal added two shots apiece.

Frank Hall recorded two first half saves before turning it over to Vinny Tasca for the remainder of the game. Tasca made one save in just over 58 minutes.

The Wildcats have two games remaining in the regular season, both against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents. The Wildcats already locked up the top seed in the CACC Tournament, but need one point in the final two games for the outright CACC Regular Season Title.

The final regular season home game is this Saturday as the Wildcats take on Dominican in the nightcap of a CACC soccer doubleheader. The game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. start.
