OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Wilmington University men's soccer team won their fourth consecutive game as they defeated New York Tech, 4-0 in their first away game of the 2019 season at Presidents Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Within the first six minutes of play the Wildcats (4-0) had three consecutive corner kick opportunities, but were cleared by the Bears (0-4) defense. In the 19th minute of play, Lorne Bickley was taken down right outside the top of the box by New York Tech's goalie, which automatically resulted in a red card that ejected the goalie and gave Wilmington a free kick. Fredrik Bentdal would take the kick at the top of the box for the Wildcats and score to give WilmU a 1-0 lead.

NYT would have two chances after the Wildcats goal but were called offside. Bickley would have another chance on goal inside the box that was saved, but Abdul Mansaray would be right there to clean up the shot and score to put the Wildcats up 2-0 with 20 minutes left until the half. New York Tech had an opportunity with an open man down the left side, but were called offside again to clear their chances of a shot.

The Wildcats would have several shots on goal to begin the second half, but wouldn't be successful until the 74th minute, as Shawn Genus beat the Bear's defenders on the left side to score his first goal of the year to put the Wildcats up 3-0. With four minutes left to play, newcomer Mamadou Diobera got a shot off just outside the top of the box to put it past the Bears' goalkeeper to make it 4-0 in favor of the Wildcats.

Fredrik Bentdal scored his second goal of the season, as Abdul Mansaray netted his third of the season. Shawn Genus and Mamadou Diombera both scored their first goals in a Wildcat uniform. Gabriel Prgomet made one save in the net for his second shutout to improve to 4-0 on the year.

WilmU had 21 shots with 11 on goal to the Bears' six.

Wilmington is back home on Wednesday afternoon, as Southern New Hampshire comes to the Complex for a non-conference matchup starting at 4:00 p.m.
